PLEASE SEE “NEWS” FOR UPDATES ON LEGISLATIVE UPDATES ON THE COLLECTIONS ISSUE.
Unlike typical collections actions, Medical Fee Disputes are governed under Missouri’s Workers’ Compensation law – Chapter 287. There are two types of Medical Fee Disputes: Reasonableness and Direct Pay. Reasonableness disputes occur when a medical provider has rendered authorized treatment
but has only been partially paid. Direct Pay disputes when treatment has been authorized and provided but no payment has been rendered to the medical provider.
Each type of Medical Fee Dispute has a distinct procedure. If you are a medical provider that has rendered authorized treatment but has not been fully reimbursed, explore your options. These are not your typical collections actions, and an attorney that understands the difference may be the difference in fully collecting for your services and treatment.
